What is The Old Barbed Wire?

It is a newsletter associated with my website The Long, Long Trail (all about the British Army in the Great War of 1914-1918) and my professional business in researching soldiers, Fourteeneighteen. I will be writing tutorial articles on how to carry out your own research; how to intepret military documents; and generally how to rebuild your ancestor’s army story. I will also throw in historical articles; bits about touring the battlefields; show you some of my photographs; and generally try to keep you entertained, informed and encouraged.
